AI is technology kids meet every day: face unlock on phones, video recommendations, voice assistants. But how does a machine "learn"? Here are three activities you can try at home.

1. Cat or dog? (Classification)

Cut out pictures of cats and dogs from magazines. Ask your child to find features that tell them apart: ear shape, nose, size. AI finds features like these on its own from thousands of examples. The more examples, the better the guess.

2. Robot chef (Algorithms)

Your child is the "robot" and you describe how to make a sandwich, step by step. "Take the bread" isn't enough: with which hand, from where? This game shows in a fun way why computers need clear, ordered instructions.

3. Rock, paper, scissors predictor (Patterns)

Play ten rounds of rock, paper, scissors and note your child's choices. Then try to predict their next move. People make patterns without noticing; AI makes predictions by spotting patterns in data.

Kids who grasp these ideas are ready to train a real image classifier in Python. That's exactly what we do in our AI & Python program.
